Råvit and vanilj is the colours...

..guess directly translated that is rawwhite and vanilla, or white and yellow if you like.

At the moment i am sitting on the balcony having the most amazing view, with calm water and a lovely moon.

Below the balcony we have this view:
The house is being painted, we hired a proffessional painter all he needs is food and wine and he will keep going :)

We have nice company all the way from england here helping us paint or we help him more likely. We are also getting some really nice steps done.

Below i'll show you some of the pictures during the last week, and i must say i think alot has been done in this short time, but i am no expert.

First we have a picture with the first undercoat going on, keep in mind the house has to be painted three times once with undercoat and then two times with the colour of choice.

Then we have a picture of the two painters in full speed

This is how it looks with two three coats and the vanilla around windows and doors, i think it looks lovely.

Below is one of the most important pictures, the last storke of the undercoat is on :)

Not everything can be about work, so we took a break and went fishing, one pike was caught. Cooked the day after.

The work continues and soon you'll see the end resault.....

Which colour do you like?

Time fly when you are fixing problems....

We moved in in march, but just cause you move in it does not mean it is finished. No! There is still things that has to be done. And it is not a nail that is missing or a door that is not closing.

The foundation is not correct, the balconys are not safe, there is whole in the walls for bugs to nest in, all the dorrs are not closing correct.

I could go on but i do not want to bore you with this just now :)

THE DAY came !!!!!! :)

We have got the keys, the house it done. It is a feeling without description. A feeling with no words. What can you say when a house that should have been deliverd november 29th 2008, is deliverd march 6th 2009?

The first night felt a bit strange, i was woken up early, a deer walked by :) saw the sunrise, the view waking up was the sunrise!!
The view through the french balcony , in the master bedroom

It will be more pictures here later this week.

It's looking goooood!!!!

Went out to the house today, wow :)

Big hopes for thursday now. It is amazing what changing builders can do to a project like this. Just seing what they have done to hide the big iron thing under the balcony put a smile on my face, and that has not happend often visiting the house lately.

The tiles look really good on the floor in the conservatory, and that room is one of my favorite rooms in the house. Just imagine a nice morning with your tea and toast, sitting there listening to the birds and watching the wind in the trees, the blue sea.....

As you can see now there is a lot of stuff that needs to be picked up and put away. So the wiev might not be so dreamy just right now :)
We have plans for the garden, but at the moment just plans, have to wait and see what we can do when the snow is gone and the ground is not hard as stone.
One thing is for sure though, my veg garden, potatoes, carrots and all lovely things you can grow.
If coming for dinner, expect a few crooked carrots, and odd shape potatoes :)

It's close now...again. Will it happen on feb 26?

Been out to the house, and it looks alright. The new builders have really done a good job in the short time they have been there.
The conservatory (above) is nearly done, tomorrow they are putting in tiles, we chose a dark grey tile 30*30 cm. It will look really good i think.

We have got a final inspection time. February 26th might be the DAY. If it all goes according to plan, about two weeks from now we will wake up to a totally different view :)

Getting closer but no final date yet

It seems to be moving, but still we have not got a date for final inspection. And if you look at the pictures it does not feel like mid february is possible.

Think it is more like end of feb thas is more real.

I can understand they wanting to be sure this time, no one wants to go through that more then once. Like a slap in the face that they have done such bad job, when they are such a big housecompany at the market.

I just want the house pass the inspection with just a few minor faults. In a perfect world with no faults, but seems a bit to much.

Should i laugh or should i cry now

The "final" inspection was on the 17th. Does it look finnished?

We arrive at 8 am in the morning hoping that before we go on holiday for christmas we will have a house to move into. They say that hope is the last that leave you, well it might be and i don't know what to expect after. If you never have been in this situation, leave it to hope and the fairy of hope does not arrive :) You want a miracle or something else. The hope left and in come; dissappointment, anger, sadness and just empty.

That is about the feeling we had at 10 am december 17th. It might seem that i am exaggerating but to me i am not.

The inspector person startet with saying at this size house we accept about 50 minor faults, could be paint in wrong places, wholes in the wood or some small things that needs to be fixed.

We walk around on the first floor for about two hours, after two hours and 80 faults (!) later the inspector said he won't even look at the second floor. This house is not approved to move into.
I felt drained out of all that we have put into this.

It is not the delay that made med sad, it is the fact that it has been builders on site that have built this house with no concern of that it should look nice for us, that they have no idea how to do things what so ever. It seemd like thay never have done this before, it felt like they just took the p*ss, that is how it felt, no care that it is a lot of time, money and effort from our side that has gone in to this. You don't build a house many times in your life.

Some of the faults thay have made just made us laugh, and somewhere i do think the inspector felt the same.

The person that sold the house to us, was there as well, and he was ashamed how it look, it was not Myresjöhus standard at all.

This is how it has been
November 28th 2008 1st inspection cancelled
December 10th 2008 2nd inspection cancelled
December 17th 2008 3rd inspection cancelled
Mid February is when they think we might have a new inspection

They have finally started with the conservatary, not a day to soon, apparently they have the drawings now, so that is good.
We went out there this weekend and believe it or not the hope come back. It now seems when they have got rid of the old builders and put in some new builders that things moving. Seeing that the other balcony is started and that the outside is cleaned up, was a good start.
