Day 1, the house is here!!! : )

Finally, the house has arrived. Maybe some of you might think i am crazy but it was really cool to watch it take shape. A moment you might just have once in your life. Like a big puzzle. And of course putting the walls in place made me think it all went really quick. But i do think the rest of the journey will be as exiting. Watching the inside beeing built, tiles, walls, floor...

But everything was not "painfree" 6.45 the lorry person that is reloading (the lorries from the factory is too big to drive down the narrow roads) the house called and said his lorry was broke. And as all you that has been in Stockholm today know it has been raining a bit aswell :)

I was there 6.50 this morning to watch everything. It started with a small lorry that delivered the small things. At about 8 am some of the outside walls for the second floor arrived. at 9.25 the downstairs walls was there. I know i have been asking if they know what they are doing when everything has been delayed, but today it was nice seeing they do know how to build a house, it is the way there that has been a bit back and forth.

When the rain come i did thank my lucky star that there was a house on the land already. I sat there and watched it from the window .

At about 2 pm i left. I couldn't be outside because of the rain. Went back at about 5 pm. They had put the ceiling in and started with the second floor. You can see everything on the pictures at the link to the right and a few below.

The open space between the floors has been taken away, changed the roms around and extended the house 1,2 m.

Below you can see how it will look

New delivery date set. Won't believe it until we see it

(click on the picture to enlarge)

Finally there is movement we can see. And it is so interesting watching how it slowly progress.

The weather has been on our side for this project. But sometimes it would be easier to blame the weather for the delays and not the people that do this so many times every year. No need to go on about that is it. But i am still really surprised how things has been handled a long the way.

June 30th is the new date for the house beeing deliverd. Will that be the date? We'll see. Until i see it with my own eyes i will not believe it. That is the third (!) date.

Below you can see the front of the house (garden). What should be done with that? If you have any ideas please let us know. It might be a brickwall with stairs coming down. Or a grassed slope. Guess that is something that has to grow on you. There will be time do decide though, move in is late november and that gives us about five months before the sun will come out an warm everything up again.

Foundation and new neighbours :)

Finally!!! The foundation is taking shape. But still everything takes two steps forward and one back. I have though said we've to think positive so the positive thought is: They have started!!

A few pictures will be in this post, on the right you can click to see the rest.

So after arguments, difference of opinions and a few other arguments and angry faces it ended up that the company we had an offer from in january to do the foundation but Myresjöhus said no, they have their own people, are now doing the foundation for Myresjöhus and we are paying the markup for 12%. If it right or wrong can be discussed.

Today was the third day of foundationwork. They have dug out all dirt and put down some of the 400 ton gravel that is going in there.

There has been a few discussions back and forth about the roundabout. It is at the moment a bit small , so they have made it wider in the beginning, we can't really say at the moment if it will be good or not before the big rock in one of the "corners" is taken away.

The new neighbours for the summer has arrived and agreed to be published here with a photo
